Belief in Psychic Readings

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Do you have a belief in accurate psychic readings?

Here’s why you mustn’t discount the chance. Everybody has seen one TV program, where the host of the show makes a claim to have mystic capabilities and to be ready to give correct mystic readings for complete strangers in their guest audience. Spectators , while finding these shows entrancing, also must have a specific amount of disbelief. As with the old style fortune tellers at the circus, there’s always a factor of distrust. The modern TV shows might be rather more convincing, but then your disbelief is awakened when a clue is imprecise. Are correct mystic readings a possibility? There are TV shows portraying psychics helping to solve crimes the police can’t.

There are real folks who do this and solve cases.

As for the fortune telling woman, gussied up in sparkling scarves and jewels and a world in which she sees the future, she could be a bit more suspect. She may actually provide accurate mystic readings, but the drama has a tendency to make you giggle it off unless she asserts something that is actually on the mark. Or are you just reading more into it, as it’s what you need to hear? A few of these fortune tellers have a number of occult based talents, like reading tea leaves, palms or Tarot cards. Joined with the blinking neon sign advertising the presence of her shop, a skeptic remains a skeptic.

On the other hand, there are outstanding figures in history who have seemingly possessed an intriguing capability to supply accurate mystic readings. What about Joan d’Arc? She revealed that God had, in a dream, instructed her just the way to keep the French Dauphin on the French throne. The Dauphin doubted her providence and disguised himself during her audience in order to show her as a crime. Having gained his trust, she probably did indeed give him correct mystic readings of just what plan of action was needed. She then led the men into battle, winning again in allegedly hopeless circumstances. Later caught by the British, she was ultimately burned at the stake as a hag, but ironically bestowed with Sainthood by the church. According to Malachi, Pope Benedict XVI is to be the last. Given his track record so far, correct mystic readings must be considered. Woman and men, in 14th and fifteenth century priories , for example St Teresa of Avila, Catherine of Siena and St John of the Cross, spent their lives in meditation and speculation. Each saw a number of what were then called visions. Because these folks lived a sequestered life, society wasn’t typically conscious of the idea of visions or mystic capability. It makes a fascinating idea to throw into the mixture of correct mystic readings. It is true that there are today folks in psychological infirmaries who are simply delusional.

Then again, there are folks who are proved to be correct in their prophecies. Look at Jeanne Dixon, the mystic who attempted to alert the Kennedy’s of her vision. Unless it happens to you, there’ll always be room for doubt.

Fender Stratocaster: The World's Most Popular Guitar

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

The Fender Stratocaster, often referred to as “Strat”, is a model of electric guitar designed by Leo Fender, George Fullerton and Freddie Tavares in 1954, and manufactured continuously to the present. It is a double-cutaway guitar, with a long horn to balance high standing.

The Stratocaster has been used by many guitarists, and can be heard on many historic recordings. In addition to the Gibson Les Paul, Gibson SG and the Fender Telecaster, it is one of the most durable and models of electric guitar in the world. The design of the Stratocaster has transcended the field of music among the classic industrial designs of all time, examples have been exhibited in major museums around the world.

In its original form, the Stratocaster is available only in a 2-color sunburst finish, with one piece maple neck with 21 frets, black dot inlays and Kluso? lifts. There was also a set of custom colors available that has not been standardized in 1960. These Colors are mostly automotive lacquer colors made by Dupont and could be done at an additional cost of 5%. The single-ply, 8-white pickguard screw hole is a unique concept which has enabled all of the guitar of electronic components – except for the recessed plate – can be mounted on easily removable surface. Stratocaster following drawings (both by the imitation of Fender and other companies), have apparently improved the usability and sound, but vintage Fender models are still too often the value of large amounts of money and some prefer the timbre of the older models.

The Stratocaster has been widely copied, which turned the word “Strat” (a trademark of Fender Musical Instrument Corporation)  to a generic term that refers to any guitar that has the same general characteristics as the original, regardless of manufacturer.
